This study draws on the previous studies which show culturally shared understandings of the self as being relational and contextual among East Asians. I argue here that among Thai people, who live by traditional Buddhist practices and are experiencing rapid economic development, those with a high socio-economic status - who earn more money, are educated for a longer period of time, and hold administrative positions - would prove to have lowered interdependent happiness. The results of the study support this claim and while objective socio-economic status showed negative correlation with the interdependent happiness, it showed a negligible correlation with general happiness. These results provide the basis for the argument that within East Asian countries increased objective socio-economic status might undermine East Asian cultural well-being.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_6_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.18884/00000682","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_6_issue_6":{"attribute_name":"号","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_issue":"Working Paper;79"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Hitokoto, Hidefumi","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"800","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2017-04-26"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"JICA-RI_WP_No.79.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"595.2 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_11","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"JICA-RI_WP_No.79.pdf","url":"https://jicari.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/688/files/JICA-RI_WP_No.79.pdf"},"version_id":"b1f0e94f-cf93-4d22-abc0-442803367f44"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"interdependent happiness","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"cultural well-being","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"socio-economic status","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Thailand culture","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"research report","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_18ws"}]},"item_title":"Interdependent Happiness:Cultural Happiness under the East Asian Cultural Mandate","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Interdependent Happiness:Cultural Happiness under the East Asian Cultural Mandate"}]},"item_type_id":"6","owner":"3","path":["613"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2014-07-02"},"publish_date":"2014-07-02","publish_status":"0","recid":"688","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Interdependent Happiness:Cultural Happiness under the East Asian Cultural Mandate"],"weko_creator_id":"3","weko_shared_id":3},"updated":"2023-05-15T17:51:37.772568+00:00"}
