He did not \nhave the time to complete the revision himself, but the final touches have been offered by his dear colleagues and \nfriends, Profs. Hiromi Mizuno (University of Minnesota) and Ian Miller (Harvard University) at the request of his \nbereaved family. Professor Moore was an outstanding historian of modern Japan who focused on the intersection of \ntechnology, history, and geo-political power. With his excellent command of the Japanese language, he delved into \nthe unexplored archives of the Japanese consulting company, Nippon Koei, during his fellowship in the Institute for \nAdvanced Studies on Asia at the University of Tokyo in 2018.
